Sharon Thayer
My name is Sharon L.
Thayer. I am in my second year of teaching first grade at the Primary
campus; however, I have been teaching in Floresville for 10 years and I have
been in education for 14 years. During the ten years I have been in the
Floresville School District this is the second time I have been honored by a
nomination as Teacher of the Year.
I am a member of the Texas Computer Education Association, PTA, and TCTM, as well as a part of the Loti team on our campus. I have been involved in the training and leadership of technology with our district for seven years. My most significant contribution in education would have to be how I try to impact my students daily by inspiring them to choose their attitude, have fun, learn all they can, always do their best, and try to be there for each other.
I graduated from Southwest Texas State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education. I have taught first grade, fourth grade, kindergarten and PK-6th grade Physical Education. My family moved to Floresville in 1998 from the Rio Grande Valley. I am married and have four terrific children. Vicki is 22, Cortney is 20, and Colton and Clayton who are twins, are 18.
