Meet Early Childhood Campus Teacher of the Year Vanessa Yoes.  Vanessa is now completing her second year as a pre-kinder teacher at the ECC, and she is doing an excellent job.  Each and every day, Ms.  Yoes makes learning come alive.  Every child that enters her classroom will not only remember the music, finger plays, and engaging activities that she provided them, but will also remember the compassion and caring attitude that she continually displayed.  She is truly sent from Heaven!

Meet Primary's Teacher of the Year by Benny Villanueva. Mrs. Thayer has been teaching first grade for the past two years and has done an outstanding job.  Previously she worked at the ECC campus as a PE teacher and was also chosen as their teacher of the year.  Mrs. Thayer is a perfect example of what a great teacher looks like.  Her ability to communicate positively and proactively with parents and administrators to ensure that her students succeed is second to none.  She is also our Technology Curriculum Specialist for first grade and is a member of the Loti team. Mrs. Thayer also demonstrates what a true team player is by the way she helps fellow staff members either with other students, curriculum or in technology.   Our campus is very excited as having her as our teacher of the year.

Meet Laura Kroll Elementary Teacher of the Year by Elementary Principal Jean Evelyn Hughes. "Laura Kroll is an outstanding educator!  Mrs. Kroll is caring, kind, intelligent, talented, and always positive.
She serves as math leader in grade 4, G.T. teacher, and technology leader.  Whatever she does, she does with excellence.  She enjoys her students and they love her!  She cares for all her students and provides an example to be emulated.  We are proud of her and her accomplishments and are thrilled that she is our campus teacher of the year."

Meet Middle School's Teacher of the Year by MS Principal Jacquelyn H. Baker “Carole Aktines is one of the most passionate, caring, and dedicated teachers around.  She uses technology in her math classes to hook her students’ attention while making learning fun and interesting for them.  Not only does she have great rapport with her students, she also serves enthusiastically as the math department lead teacher.  As a team leader, Carole spends countless hours making sure that her department has the curriculum and materials needed to help our students succeed and she works diligently to build a team concept within her department.  From mentoring new teachers to presenting at state conferences, she is always willing to go the extra mile to make our campus shine!  Carole has been teaching for 31 years, 22 of the years have been in FISD.  She has taught math at the middle school for 18 years.  It is with great pride that FMS presents our Teacher of the Year – Mrs. Carole Atkines!”

Meet Alternative's Teacher of the year Pam Harvey by Principal Bud Box
"Pam’s philosophy of education, words like “fun, positive, upbeat, safe, comfortable, acceptance, tolerance, debate, and discuss” stand out.  These words mirror the climate at the Alternative Center so it is no wonder that Pam was chosen as our Teacher of the Year."

Meet High School's Teacher of the year by Principal Sherri Bays
