| The Floresville Elementary counselors will be starting small group guidance sessions soon. Some of the goals of the groups are to enhance self-esteem and to increase communication and problem-solving skills. These groups meet once a week for approximately 30 minutes. At present, the groups are created on a teacher or student/family request, and all groups are voluntary. Should you have questions, feel free to contact us at 830-393-5328 ext. 5. |

| Both Mrs. Torres and myself, as the school counselors, focus the classroom guidance upon the Six Pillars. We read books, do activities, and discuss these Character Traits in the lessons to address the students' developmental areas of: decision-making, problem-solving, and goal-setting; interpersonal effectiveness; communication skills; self-confidence; and motivation. |
In today's world of technology and computers, all too often we're not aware of where our children are exploring. Click here to learn about ways to help keep your child safe on the internet. This website will also direct you to strategies that the school can assist you with should chatting [online] lead to bullying/harassment towards your child by another. Please inform the school if concerns arise. |
| Peer Mediation is underway. We have over a dozen 5th grade students trained to help the students of Floresville Elementary to report and discuss conflicts to work towards an agreeable solution.
