Take A Peep into
Rebecca of Blossom Prairie

By Maurine Walpole Liles

In the beginning of this story  Rebecca and her children faced a horrible  tragedy.  They decided to hit the trail.  Although they lived in the country, Rebecca was not used to life traveling west.  They were always the last wagon.  Eventually, she learned how to meet the standards within the wild.   While they were traveling they experienced some trouble.  But, did they ever get to blossom prairie?  Read this book to find out this family's adventures.  I personally would give this book an award.

The reason I love this book is because the family is always positive.  Everybody told them to give up but they kept going.  I think that you might want to read this book because it shows it doesn't matter  who you are, you can do anything you want to.  Most books that I read have adventure in it, and that's exactly what this book is about. So  if you like adventure read Rebecca of Blossom Prairie.   In this book the family works together to overcome problems.  This novel shows that if you work together anything can be achieved.  Rebecca of Blossom Prairie shows a lot of love truly from the heart.  If you love your family, definitely read this book.

In this book life was hard.  You had to yoke the cattle, get the cows, and all the other farm animals.  In this novel everyone has a part to do so they can stay alive.  I wouldn't be able to live as a pioneer child, because it was way too much work.  I get to play in this life time, and that's exactly how I want it to stay.

In this book I think that there are two very hard  decisions made.  Both were made by Rebecca.  1st up in the story was when she had to decide whether or not to go to Texas.  I think that she made the right decision because she was looking ahead to see what would be better for her children.  I probably would have said no! The other decision in the story was when Charlie got bit by a snake.  I think she made a good decision in trusting in Louisa. Again, I probably wouldn't have trusted her.

As Mrs. Liles says in her preface, "This story, seen through the eyes of her young daughter, Kitty Garner, is filled with adventures, hard-ships, and many a dream come true."
