Sadie

By Casandra R.

My name is Sadie.  I am a Bengal Tiger.  My dad is the biggest, strongest tiger there is in our forest.

I love being a Bengal Tiger.  I prowl, pounce and play.

However, my family is scarcely alive for we only have one rabbit to feed the whole family.  I, Sadie, am going to hunt in the forest.

Crack! What’s that? I hear a sound. My heart beats rapidly. I want to scream but if I make a sudden move I might not be alive to see my mom one more time. Things keep racing through my mind. I'm wondering if my mother is worrying about me, what my big sister is doing, but most of all how frightening the animal is.

To my surprise, it was only a deer. The deer was going for a walk and grazing in the grass. I creep closer, the deer turns around, I lean onto the tall grass, then the deer starts to graze again.

I pounce, catch it, and head toward home.

When my mom sees me, she runs to me with such delight.

My mom has so much love and happiness, you could see it in her eyes.  Instead of having only rabbit, we had rabbit and deer.
