The Hot Day

One summer morning, Bill the Elephant was looking for shade.  He was walking near the bushes that his parents told him not to go near. The brown cracked ground looked very hot. The bushes looked so inviting. Forgetting what his parents said, he went and laid down in the tall bushes.

He heard a sound that sounded something like this: Crack!  Bill looked around and saw nothing.  He kept walking.  He heard it again and looked around; again, nothing.  All of a sudden, a tiger jumped out, narrowly missing his neck!  He nearly had a heart attack! 

Bill ran back home while the tiger was looking around.  He told his parents and they trapped the tiger.  They scared it out of its wits and chased it away. After they finished laughing, they went to their cave.
