Galileo's Life
Galileo was a famous astronomer. He was born in Florence in 1564 and he lived 77 years. Galileo was taught by Vallembrosa monks. He later on went to the University of Pisa and studied mathematics. Galileo began teaching mathematics, even though his father told him to study medicine. He was famous for discovering that the planets orbited the sun instead of the Earth and got arrested afterwards. He was the first one to use the telescope. In 1591, Galileo's father died. Galileo married Maria Gamba. He discovered four of Jupiter's moons. Galileo observed some of the major sunspots. He died in 1642.
