| On Tuesday, November 7, 2000, students at Floresville Elementary School participated in a mock Presidential election. |  |
They filled out a voter registration card which they had to get stamped before they could get a ballot. |

Each student voted in the privacy of a "voting booth", folded their ballots and put them in the official, although retired, ballot boxes. |

Students from Mrs. Berger's G/T classes were poll watchers, election judges, and vote counters. |

| We'd like to thank Howard Berger for purchasing the registration cards, printed by the Chronicle Journal, and our county clerk for the loan of the ballot boxes. | 974 students cast their ballots (out of a student population of just over 1,000). | |
