Historic Wilson County Photographs

So many kind individuals helped us with our Cyberfair project, telling us their stories, showing us their homes and places of work, remembering our shared past.  We wanted to give something back to our community by way of thanks.  Herewith we present the historic photographs of Wilson County.  Some of these photographs will take you back in time as far as the 1870s.  Some are of places you can still visit here in our South Texas home.  We hope you'll enjoy browsing through these images and remembering days gone by.  If you have more information about certain photographs, or corrections to the information given, please email us and let us know.

All photos were taken in Wilson County.  Unless noted otherwise, all are courtesy of the Wilson County Historical Commission and the Emergency Management Agency.   The photographs are stored with Emergency Management to ensure their safety. We would like to thank Fran Randall and Janice Witten for all their help.  Mr. Winston Davis, no longer with us, surely spent many hours identifying and labeling these treasures.  Identifying information given with the photographs is the information currently listed on the back of the photographs; in certain cases, you'll see that we've tried to correct obvious mistakes.  Please help us by emailing us to let us know if we're wrong.
