Students can help
their community by becoming involved in a variety of activities and
organizations like church, Girl and Boy Scouts, 4-H, and
extracurricular activities at school.

Apply yourself at
school and try to help your parents as much as possible. Learn as
much as you can so that when you are older and are more able to be
on your own, you’ll be more prepared, to volunteer with projects
that you have some skills to be of value. You learn those skills and
values by helping your parents, and learning what they know how to
do.

(Students can help
by) volunteering at school for projects and when they get a chance
to, visit (others in the community). Get to know the community
organizations and help their parents and peers when in they are in
trouble.

Be
in sports, clubs and just be aware of what goes on in Floresville.

Be
involved in their schools and in clubs.

Find something
that you like to do and go out into the community and see what the
need is, or see if there is a need for you to do that. Just go do
it. Don’t think twice about it, just do it.

Get
to know the local leaders.

Visit people
in the nursing home.

Be
involved in activities outside of school and inside school, such as
4-H, Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, and Band.

Encourage
other kids to stay away from drugs and alcohol.

Help
a neighbor or at the church.

Start
a computer club where students who are computer literate (can) teach
the citizens of Floresville about computers.

Have their parents
take them to council meetings, school board meetings , church
activities and the post office!

(Get involved
with) service.... you can’t talk about things; you have to go out
and do things. You need to go out and help; for instance go to a
neighbor’s house and mow their yard.

Watch
(your) parents; (work) through the school with different activities.

Children can
help the community by staying in school, and (learning) as much as
(they) can and continue learning.

Be
interested in county government...and (get) involved in your
community. (That's) one of the greatest things you can do
(because) we make decisions at court which affect people's lives.

Volunteer time in
social activities that help people.

Identify a
particular need and join together to help somebody else out, whether
it’s somebody in your school that doesn’t have food to eat or
not so good clothing to wear to school.

There
are a lot of organizations that could use a lot of volunteer help,
organizations like the Historical Society and Main Street Project.

Students can help
their community by being good students, because if they learn a lot,
then they’re going to be able to contribute something back to
their community, to make it a better place for everyone.

matches or anything that can cause a fire.
