Below is an email received from a Gilley descendant who enjoyed our two web pages about her family.

I accidentally found your project while searching for an e-mail address for the Wilson County Courthouse.  Imagine my surprise when my family popped up before my eyes!!  Claude Gilley is my uncle and is the last of the four brothers still alive.  How did you know to talk to him?

In the picture of the four brothers with their father, the brothers are lined up in birth order.  From left to right they are:  Amos Forrest Gilley (my grandfather), Thurman Amos Gilley (my Dad), Forrest Thomas Gilley, Earl Dobie Gilley and Claude Edgar Gilley.  The picture of my grandparents holding my Dad (Thurman Gilley) I had never seen.  A very emotional moment!!

My mother, Elizabeth Gilley ( who is 88) still lives on the Gilley Homestead on the old Flores Road and goes to church at Marcelina where my Dad and his ancestors are buried.

I have been researching my family tree since I was in my early twenties (I'm 62 now) and have had some happy surprises but this is the best of all!!!

A mere "Thank You" isn't enough to express my pleasure in your project but, nevertheless, I send it with a BIG hug to all.

Sincerely,
    Jessie Ruth Gilley Rackley
