The Toy Plane

“Merry Christmas!” That’s all I heard while I was in a box. Then I felt the box shaking and the lid opened.  “Wow, mom, I love it!” said the stranger that was standing right in front of me.

“Merry Christmas, Richard,” said the lady standing next to him. The little boy picked me up and started flying me around. “Stop, stop!” I starting yelling, but he couldn’t hear me. The little boy finally put me down and ran into a room in the hallway. I tried to run away but my wheels were stuck. Apparently, when the little boy put me down he put me in some gum that was on the floor.

          “Gross!” I yelled.

The little boy came into the room with something in his hand. I looked real closely and saw that it was a little man. He put the little man in the pilot’s seat and started flying me around again.

“Richard, its time to feed Rocky!” said the lady that was standing in the doorway. He put me down on a chair and I fell asleep.

I woke up by something licking my face. I looked up and saw the dog licking me. Then the dog picked me up in its mouth and took me to the kitchen. There was a silver bowl with water in it.

Just then there was a honking noise and the little boy ran to the window and said, “See you later, Rocky.” As soon as the boy shut the door, I rolled off to his room to take a little nap. When I woke up I felt as good as new. I went back to the kitchen and saw the little boy pouring himself something to drink.

All of a sudden that dog came and picked me up in his moth and carried me to the little boy’s room. He started drooling on me as soon as we were on the bed. Then he stopped and to my surprise he started licking me. It turned out that he actually liked me.

Now exactly a year later, it’s Christmas again and I feel great! I feel like I found a home here. The dog Rocky and I have bonded; so have Richard and I.

Rocky picks me up and takes me to the kitchen and sets me down right by his bowl. When he’s done eating, he picks me up and takes me to the couch to rest and we both fall asleep on the couch and wake up by the sound of the door opening.

To this day, Rocky and I are always with Richard. We go everywhere with him. One day he even took us into a store that sells planes and has a animal adoption center in back. Richard’s mom and the owner got in a fight because he thought that they had stolen Rocky from the adoption center and me from the toy department. We had to go all the way home to get my receipt and get Rocky’s adoption papers.

We went back to the store and showed the owner the papers. He apologized to us and let us buy anything we wanted. Richard got some play animals and his mom got a candle.

We went back home and played in Richard’s room. Ever since then, we have never been apart. As for that little man I saw on my first day here, let’s just say he hasn’t been the same since Rocky got a hold of him.
