Travis' Letter from the Alamo

Col. William Travis wrote a letter "To the People of Texas and All Americans in the World", asking for reinforcements during the siege of the Alamo. I think it is one of the most elegant and beautiful pieces of prose in the American language. My 4th grade G/T students memorized the letter, recorded it as a sound file, illustrated it with photographs from the Alamo, added music, and created these videos. We hope you enjoy viewing them.

If you are in need of copyright-free photographs of the Alamo, check out our online collection. We will be adding to this as the years go by; the photographs are intended for use by teachers and students throughout the state.
