Basketball and Me Hi, my name is Kelsey and I am in the 6th grade. Some of my hobbies are reading, babysitting, talking on the phone, playing volleyball, playing with my friends, and especially playing basketball. When I was little my mom always wanted me to be a girly girl, but obviously that just wasn't my path. I started playing basketball when I was only five years old. That is when I got my first basketball hoop and ball. I was so excited about playing, that by when I was seven years old my dad started to help me learn the basic skills, like dribbling, passing, catching, and shooting. I wasn't perfect yet, but I was okay. I stopped playing basketball for a while because I got so busy. When I was ten years old My dad started working with me on my skills again. This time my mom helped me too. She must have been my lucky charm because I got it this time . Then my dad entered me in a free throw contest and I got first in district, first in area, and I finally lost in regional. After that, my mom registered me in the Spurs Drug Free Basketball League. I did well because of my height. Also I had two really good coaches including the Assistant coach my mom. I have really enjoyed this game and I hope I make the Junior High team next year.
