Board Member Rachel
Bonnie Peña
About Mrs. Peña:
Rachel has worked in the banking industry
for 30 years, 28 of those at the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas, San
Antonio office. She joined the Federal Reserve in September of 1980.
During her tenure, she has worked in Administration, Customer
Support, Cash Fiscal Agency, Payments Mechanism and Economics & Public
Affairs. In her current role as Public Affairs Representative, she
organizes articles for Bank publications, coordinates conferences,
forums and special events, and assists in the promotion of economic
education. She also manages the Bank tour program and Economic
Education Library. Rachel, her husband René, and their son René Angel
are all life long residents of Floresville and graduates of
Floresville High School.
Reason for being a board
member: “I am
a product and an advocate of the public school system. FISD is a
competitive and progressive school district with a current enrollment
of
3689
students. The district experiences an average growth rate of 3% per year.
I am committed in making sure that our school district offers a
quality education to all students and that it provides a safe and
challenging learning environment.”
