Newspapers In Education
September 2, 2008
Dear Parents and Guardians,
Your child's teacher
has requested copies of the Wilson County News to be used as a
resource in their classroom. These newspapers are provided by the Newspapers In
Education
program. We want to help encourage students to be lifelong learners and
to read for fun as well as to learn facts. While textbooks contain
the learning material, the newspaper will often show relevant examples to
bring subjects to life.
Our goal for the Newspapers
In Education
program is to provide students an opportunity to learn more about the community
while exercising their academic skills There is no charge to the student or the
teacher for this weekly publication that is delivered to the school. The actual
cost is $9.00 per student for one school year. This cost is covered by
donations to the NIE
program at
We hope your student enjoys receiving the newspaper in the
classroom. You can learn more about the Newspapers In
Education program by visiting our Website at www.wilsoncountynews.com or you may call the office at
830-216-4519. We
encourage you to use our free online resources for parents,
students and teachers for homework help, arts and crafts and skills
practice. You may access these resources at :
