Tech4Learning, Inc, is an innovative educational technology company that develops and markets original professional development programs and creativity products for K-12 education. Since the company was founded in 1999, we have focused on developing tools educators need to be successful with technology in their classrooms. Tech4Learning provides lesson ideas through their Lesson Library for all of its products. Part of the site is subscription only, but much of it can be used without subscribing. The Trading Post is a lesson sharing area where teachers share lessons they have done using the various types of software.

Pros: TeacherVision is a powerful site organized by grade levels, subject, themes, lesson plans, class management, newsletters, and new content. The site gives you the number of entries for each area. There are thousands of entries to help teachers use fresh ideas in their teaching. The site covers birth through 12th grade.
Cons: Sometimes when you click on a link, it takes you to an advertisement before you go to the actual link. This doesn't happen much and there is a link to click on to skip out of the ad. There are also some ads on the various pages. The site is a subscription site, so give the free trial a shot before deciding to subscribe.

Teaching ideas for PreK-grade 12; online activities by grade level and content area; lesson plans; teaching strategies; tools include: rubric maker, graphic organizers, flash card maker, spelling wizard; classroom management tools; class homepage builder.
Pros: The site covers a wide range of topics and grade levels. It has great online activities for each grade level. There are message boards for teachers and a place for new teachers to get advice from experienced teachers. There is also a job search feature.
Cons: The site does have advertising on it, though not a large amount.
Internet4Classrooms

Helping teachers use the internet effectively, this site provides links for K-12 teachers, online practice modules for Office and other programs, websites which could be used for short daily lessons such as a question of the day or brain teaser, resources to help students practice skills required on various assessments, and a search engine.
Pros: The site is free and a great resource when looking to integrate technology into your lessons. Icons on the site make surfing much easier as they identify the format of the entry (video format, something to print, interactive, Word document, PowerPoint document, etc.)
Cons: Some of the information may have a long download time. However, the authors do warn viewers when this is the case.
PBS Teachers (www.pbs.org/teachers)  
 
Here you'll find classroom materials suitable for a wide range of subjects and grade levels. They provide thousands of lesson plans, teaching activities, on-demand video assets, and interactive games and simulations. PBS Teachers is also the gateway for local resources and services offered by your local PBS station.
Pros: There is an archive of lesson plans and videos as well as online professional development. You can customize the site to fit your needs. You can search for specific lessons, such as "addition K-2" and it will give you information on lesson plans, off-line activities, interactive activities, audio/video resources, non-pbs links and non-pbs books.
Cons:
Does have advertising, though not extensive.

Kathy Schrock's Guide for Educators is a categorized list of sites useful for enhancing curriculum and professional growth. It is updated often to include the best sites for teaching and learning. You can also sign up for a free newsletter that will notify you when new sites are added.
Pros: This site is a virtual goldmine of information. There is a lot of information and material you can use to integrate technology into your lessons. There are also great ideas for lessons without technology also.  The site is well organized and easy to use.
Cons: A novice teacher may be overwhelmed by all of the material on this site. Take your time and take it slow.

Pros: This site is free and is very easy to navigate. The site is a links page for many other sites. Each link is followed by a brief description of the site. There is no advertising on the site. It was created by a teacher. There are resources for ESL teachers.
Cons: There are a lot of links to sift through and it may take you a while to figure out which sites are the most useful to you.

A plan for integrating technology into the curriculum. Includes steps to take and lots of resources. Technology resources for K-3 available also.
Pros: Includes links to research, assessment tools, software reviews, webquests, and many other resources to make integrating technology a seamless endeavor.
Cons: Some of the links do not provide detailed descriptions

A list of a variety of WebQuests for K-2 done by a first grade teacher.
Pros: This is a quick and easy way to find WebQuests for young children, WebQuests are organized by subject matter.
Cons: There are no descriptions of the WebQuests with the links.
Free Stuff for Teachers (http://www.netrover.com/~kingskid/freestuff.htm)
 
A little misleading because parts of the site are available only with a subscription. One site license is currently $19.99 and a school license is $49.99. There is lots of good stuff however, such as Worksheet Generator, 3D Graphic Organizer, Dolch Word Game Programs, Word Search Generator, Minute Math Programs, Thematic Lined Paper, Animated Dolch Word Books, Visual Timer, and a Link to Room 108 which has over 400 pages of free interactive programs for primary child and teacher.
Pros: A great resource when you want to create your own worksheet tailored to your instruction or find a worksheet for a particular skill, when you refresh the page of a ready made worksheet it gives you a new worksheet for the same skill allowing you to print individual worksheets for students or several different worksheets of the same skill.
Cons: Some of the links only allow you to use one or two demos. They then direct you to the teacher store to purchase the program.

iKnowthat.com has activities for Prek-sixth grade in The Arts, Language Arts, Math, Science, Social Studies, Thinking Games, Quiz Central. There is also a teacher guide available. Registration is required.
Pros: The site is very exciting and motivating for  children. The games and activities reinforce skills learned in the classroom.
Cons: There is a lot of advertising on the site and to use all of the site requires a subscription. However, the free sections provide plenty of activities for children to benefit from this site.

All the resources available or listed here are free for use in schools, colleges and at home.
  • The Printables Page has a selection of printable worksheets, handouts and teaching aids most of which can be customized to suit a range of learners.
  • The Links Page lists websites which have been carefully selected for the quality of their information or because they provide further excellent sources of cost-free learning resources and software.
  • The Files Page lists free educational software from many sources which has proved useful to teachers and parents of special needs students.
  • Search Tools are custom Google search engines which make it easier to locate free resources and information from several different SEN related areas.

  • abcteach features material for preschool through 8th grade, and teachers of these grades rely on abcteach to provide a range of quality material in all subjects, for all students
  • Over two million people visit the free site each month to find outstanding material for preschool through eighth grade. Currently, there are over five thousand documents (from simple worksheets to full ten-page units) on the free site, with new materials being added every month. A monthly newsletter is available to anyone who wants to stay on top of the newest materials added to the free site.
  • The abcteach membership site was created to help offset the costs of maintaining the increasingly popular site. Members gain access to an even larger “library” of cross-curricular materials that are available through simple downloads. The library of over 20,000 documents is constantly updated, reflecting current events and educational trends as well as member requests. The site features over three thousand images of teacher-oriented clip art, and new clip art is added every week. Members receive a weekly newsletter notifying them of the newest material on the member site and highlighting other materials of topical interest. Members also have access to abctools, a group of generators for creating personalized worksheets tailored to the specific needs and interests of the students.
  • Memberships are $35 for one year or $60 for two years.
