Floresville has been my home since August of 1987 and all of those years have been spent teaching at Floresville Primary. I started as a Transitional First Grade teacher, then moved to a regular First Grade classroom. A few years ago, our school tried a looping program and I went with my first graders to second grade. The next year the looping program was ended and I chose to continue teaching first grade.
Currently I serve my campus as the first grade Technology Curriculum Specialist, LoTi leader (Levels of Technology Implementation) and member of the campus technology team. Part of my responsibilities include conducting technology workshops for teachers and assisting them with using technology in their classroom. In December 2007, I graduated from Our Lady of the Lake University with a Masters of Education in Curriculum and Instruction and certification as Master Technology Teacher (MTT).
Recently I entered the Masters program at Grand Canyon University in Arizona. The program is all online and very challenging. At the conclusion of my course work I will have a Masters of Education: Reading Specialist.
I have been honored to be selected for membership in Who's Who Among American Teachers for 2005, 2006 and 2007.
I am a single parent with two grown children of whom I am very proud. Both have graduated from college and are working in their chosen careers. I have been an active member of the First Baptist Church in Floresville since 1987 and currently co-teach an adult Sunday School class. From 1995 to 2007, I was an active member of the A&O Investment Group in Floresville, serving as treasurer, secretary, and president. My hobbies include reading, stamping, bowling, and more reading.
