 Fall Story
Block B Reading

One fall day as I was walking down a path, something hit my head. I looked up and saw a squirrel eating an acorn. He had a bushy tail.  His fur looked warm.  He must be getting ready for winter!  I could see many acorns in his nest.

The air was getting cooler so I put on my sweater.  I knew it was getting late so I better hurry up and get home for dinner.

Today we went to the high school stadium. And we honored the veterans. We sang the National Anthem to the veterans and sang “God Bless America” to them. Every time we sang a song we held up our flags. The real day we celebrate Veteran’s Day is November 11.

Sharks

Sharks are so big and cool. The mako shark is the fastest shark. Sharks are so awesome. I like sharks!

                 By Travis Jones, 2nd grade

I saw a shark one day. My mom saw the shark. It was a tiger shark. These sharks are awesome. The tiger shark swam away. I’m going to miss that shark.

I know about sharks. I know that one or two sharks are fast swimmers. And some sharks are big and some are small. Sharks have different kinds of teeth and they are different shapes. Most sharks have pointy teeth but a whale shark has small teeth like a baby’s teeth.             By Isabella Alvear-Jimenez

My dogs are fun. We like to play with them. I like them. I see them every day.

Joe Writes a Story

Yesterday I got all my work finished. My teacher was proud of me because I got my work done. I felt proud of myself. I even got to play at recess. That was the best day of my life. At the end of the school day I was happy.

 Brandon Writes a Story

I have a new cousin and his name is Ray Anthony. He’s a baby and he’s four months old. He’s a boy and he likes his baby bear toy. He barely had his first Halloween and now is his first Christmas. He’s important to me because I love him and he’s funny. He can play a toy piano.

Yesterday I went to the Scobee Planetarium. The planetarium look like a dome to me. We saw all the planets but Pluto is a dwarf planet. It was cool in the planetarium and quiet in the planetarium. Almost everybody was there and it was fun in there.

       By Abigail Medina, 2nd grade

Yesterday I went to the Scobee Planetarium. It was in San Antonio. And we were pretending we were in a real rocket ship in space. We saw Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Neptune, Uranus and Pluto. Mercury is the closest planet to the sun. Pluto is not a planet, it is a dwarf planet. The sun is a star.

    By Victoria Martinez

Yesterday I went to the planetarium. I used my imagination to see the stars on the ceiling. We pretended to be in a rocket to visit the planets. Then we went back to Earth.

   CHRISTMAS IN ENGLAND

Did you know Christmas cards are over 100 years old? And you know Father Christmas is like our Santa Claus. You and I know that they burn the Yule log and they have good luck. I know that the Yule log burns for about 12 hours. Most of our Christmas carols come from England.

   By Travis Jones, 2nd grade

Christmas cards come from England. Some of the Christmas carols come from England. In England you burn a Yule log for twelve hours and the ashes you save for next year. Father Christmas looks like our Santa.

     By Raymond Sauceda, 2nd grade

The person that gives the presents is Father Christmas. In England they burn a Yule log and they save the dust from the Yule log. They sprinkle the dust on the new one and it brings good luck to them.

Under my tree I see an elf looking at me…OOOOOOOOOOO! An elf with big pointie ears and I saw his nose and Santa too. I saw a lot of them everywhere around my house…outside too and at my friend’s and at the store. I went to the North Pole but look! There are no elves there. I wonder if there are some in Santa’s workshop?

                      The Snow

One day it snowed in Floresville. Then me and my brother went out to make a snowman. After that we played snowball fight. When we were done, it was time to decorate the snowman. Then it got too cold and we had to go inside to eat gingerbread cookies. I like the snow!
