Mrs. Pruski

The G.E.A.R.S. program is designed to challenge students in reading and math above the regular curriculum.  It is pull-out program that students will attend once or twice a week for 45 minutes.  During this time students will work on advanced thinking skills and projects involving the core subjects.

Nominations for G.E.A.R.S. are by teachers only. Criteria for being in the program is based on teacher observations and checklist, T.P.R.I. scores, reading and math checkpoint scores and achievement test. Teachers will observe students during the first six weeks and will make nominations the beginning of the second six weeks. Data will be gathered on those students and a committee will select students who qualify.  Parents will be informed if their child meets the qualifications.

The G.E.A.R.S. program is not the Gifted/Talented program. (See GT for information)
