T.A.F.E.  CANDY SALE

            T.A.F.E. will be selling candy and beef jerky sticks as their fundraiser to raise money for the convention and their other projects.  The sale starts Tuesday, Jan. 9, and extends through Jan. 18.

T.A.F.E.  STATE CONVENTION

            The state convention will be held at the Omni Hotel in San Antonio on Friday and Saturday, February 23-24.  The F.H.S. chapter plans to enter the scrapbook competition this year.  Our members will be participating in many of the activities and sessions.

T.A.F.E.  PROJECTS  

          The chapter assembled and delivered “Teacher Survival Kits” to approximately 400 F.I.S.D. teachers and aides before Christmas.  These little bags contained items like “paper clips” to help them “keep it all together,” Starbursts to give them “a burst of energy”, etc.  It especially gave them a big THANK YOU for being part of the world’s greatest profession.

            The next project is a handout to teachers and aides entitled “In a Moment” which describes the impact they can make on students.

            In January and February, T.A.F.E. members will begin their teaching project.  They will be observing teachers in lower grades; a later visit will hopefully find them actually doing some teaching.
