National Honor Society is composed of students who have a cumulative scholastic average of 90.0 or above, and who are selected on the basis of their academic averages and good character. No student is considered before the second semester of his/her sophomore year, but membership may be transferred from a previous school. In addition to academic performance, the three other criteria considered are character, leadership, and service.
National Honor Society is the outgrowth of a long-standing academic honor society in Floresville once known as the Beta Club. The National Honor Society is a prestigious organization, and members are expected to maintain high standards throughout high school. Activities include a fundraiser to support the annual induction ceremony and purchase stoles and tassels for graduating seniors. Community service is required, and may include activities such as canned food drives, donating personal grooming items to the FISD Social Services Department, peer tutoring, and a D.P.S. Troopers VS. Faculty basketball game.
* NHS meetings are held on the 1st Wednesday of each month at 8:00 a.m. in the auditorium.
