Katherine Johns
has been the elementary music specialist at
Floresville Elementary School in
Floresville, Texas since 1998. She is the
Vice President of KET (Kodály Educators of
Texas.). Mrs. Johns received her Bachelor of
Music degree from the Stephen F. Austin
State University in Nacogdoches, Texas and
her Master of Music degree from Texas State
in San Marcos, Texas. She completed her
national Organization of American Kodály
Educators (OAKE) Certification in
Kodály Studies at Texas State.
She has been a recently selected clinician
for TMEA, the state music teachers
convention. Mrs. Johns has
presented workshops on such topics as
"Fun Prep and Practice Activities" and "How
to Teach Folk Dancing." She is currently a
member of the professional music
organizations OAKE, KET, and TMEA.
Mrs. Johns has one
brother, Andrew, who is a university band
director in Wisconsin. She is married to
Brandon Johns, fifth grade teacher in SAISD
and mother to Cameron (1st grade) and
Corinne (age 3 at Sonshine Ark). Mrs.
Johns also has two cats named Pandora and
Yeti.
