November 2009 Board Recognitions

The November Students of the Month are Daniela Daniela Aguillon and Nicolas Gonzales.

November  Female Student of the Month

November Student of the MonthThe November Female student of the month is Daniela Aguillon. Daniela is the seventeen-year-old daughter of Velia and Louis Aguillon.
           
As a member of the Mighty Tiger Band, Daniela has become a leader among her peers. Last year, she was the woodwind lieutenant and is this year’s band president. Daniela was named 2nd chair to the 4A All-State band in 2009. In addition, she was named to the All-Region band the past three years and to the All-Area band the past two years.
           
Daniela is also a member in good standing with the FHS chapter of the National Honor Society. She is currently serving as President for the Leo’s Club.
           
For her efforts in the classroom, Daniela has earned numerous honors. She has received the Outstanding Student of the Year Award in Pre-AP Biology, Algebra I, Pre-AP English I, Independent Studies, Spanish III, and AP English III. She was also named to the Who’s Who of American High School students.
           
When not busy in the classroom, Daniela is giving back to her community. She has participated in Relay for Life and a Breast Cancer Awareness Festival. She also organized and participated in blood drives.
           
Upon graduation in June, Daniela plans to pursue a degree in music and science. She is considering attending Southern Methodist University, Texas Christian University, or Baylor University.

November Male Student of the Month

November Student of the Month The November male student of the month is Nicolas Gonzales. Nick is the seventeen-year-old son of Marcia and Leonard Gonzales.
           
Nick is a member in good standing with several FHS organizations. He has been an active member of the Mighty Tiger Band and is co-captain of the drumline. As a member of the National Honor Society, Nick serves as the organization’s Historian. As a Junior, Nick was a Link Crew Leader, where he served as a mentor to incoming freshmen to help them make a smooth transition into high school. Nick was also a member of the Tiger basketball team his first two years in high school.
           
Nick’s involvement is not limited to the classroom. Nick has participated in a Teen ACTS retreat through Sacred Heart Church in Floresville, Holy Trinity in Falls City, and St. Anthony’s in Elmendorf.
           
As a member of the Peanut Festival Court, Nick serves as an ambassador for the City of Floresville. He, and other members of the court, represents the city in parades throughout South Texas.
           
Despite the demands of his academic and extracurricular activities, Nick still finds time for employment. He is currently employed with Connally Memorial Medical Center in the Radiology Department.
           
Upon graduation in June, Nick plans to pursue a degree in Science and music.  He is considering attending Texas Tech University, University of Texas in San Antonio, or Incarnate Word University.
